Security you can bank on
Piggi is committed to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and security of your personal information. Here's exactly how we protect your data — and your money.
Your Bank Login Stays With Your Bank
Piggi connects to your accounts through Plaid, the same secure infrastructure used by thousands of leading financial apps. You authenticate directly with your bank — your username and password are never seen, touched, or stored by Piggi.
Read-Only Transaction Access
Piggi's access to your linked accounts is strictly read-only. We can see transaction amounts to calculate round-ups, but we cannot move money from those cards or accounts. The only transfer Piggi ever initiates is the ACH donation you explicitly authorized.
256-Bit Encryption
All data is protected with 256-bit encryption in transit and at rest. Your information is never stored unprotected on your phone, tablet, or computer.
Account Safeguards
Multi-factor authentication, automatic logouts, and identity verification protect your Piggi account from unauthorized access.
Fraud Alerts
We monitor for unusual account activity and contact you proactively so you can act fast if something looks wrong.
Overdraft Prevention
Before any transfer, Piggi checks your available balance. If funds are insufficient, the transfer simply doesn't happen — no surprise overdrafts caused by giving.
Segregated Donation Funds
Donations in transit are held in a segregated account designated exclusively for user donations — separate from Piggi's operating funds — and disbursed to your charity within 30 days.
Hardened Infrastructure
Piggi runs on enterprise cloud infrastructure with continuous monitoring, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, and real-time alerting — the same DevSecOps discipline used for enterprise and government-grade applications.
Your Data, Your Rights
We retain data only as long as necessary and honor verified deletion requests under GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws. Email privacy@piggibanks.com any time to exercise your rights.
Security FAQ
Can Piggi see my bank username and password?
No. When you link an account you log in through your bank via Plaid. Piggi never receives or stores your credentials.
Can Piggi spend money from my cards?
No. Card and transaction access is read-only, used solely to calculate round-ups. Donations are transferred only from the bank account you designated, only after your round-ups reach the threshold you set, and you're notified before each transfer.
What happens if my balance is low?
Piggi checks your balance before initiating a transfer and skips it if funds are insufficient, protecting you from overdraft fees.
How do I know the charities are real?
Every charity is verified as a 501(c)(3) in good standing, screened against the U.S. Treasury's OFAC sanctions list at onboarding and annually, and monitored on an ongoing basis. Users can flag any organization with the in-app "Report a Concern" button, which pauses donations while we investigate.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can unlink your accounts and close your Piggi account at any time, and request deletion of your personal data by emailing privacy@piggibanks.com.
